5@theLake Results
Last Saturday we held the 2nd of our runs in the 2018-19 “5@theLake” series.
- This go, we had 53 starters
- our best in 2017-18 was 43 in March’18
- we go back to February’16, our first run on this course, to get a better number, 55.
- 10 pbs, with special of the achievement of both Arlene and Clarence Caraballo who both achieved a first – a pb in the three events in the one month – the 10, the 3.5 and the 5k. Both on fire. Well done to you both.
- 9 newies, all coming over from the other handicaps
After the run, we had an inspiring talk from Lilian Molesworth on the Hawaiian Ironman Triathlon World Championships which consists of a 3.8km swim and 180km bike ride and a 42km marathon run. She completed the event the six days before. Lilian was the fastest Female in the 5@theLake, she suggested that she could have been faster had it not been her effort the week before with her very credible 11hour 43mins in the Triathlon in mid 30 degree heat, 91%humidity in the lava fields of Hawaii. This brought some laughter. Congratulation Lilian you have done us proud.

Females: Lilian Molesworth 21.01, Jacqui Viterale 23:01and Kayley Sommers 23.24
Juniors (under 16) – Male: Jack Wedgwood 19:08, Kevin Tran 25.16 and Nathan Trinh 25.53
Juniors (under 16) – Female: Kayley Sommers 23.24, Emma Trinh 25.22 and Sophie Trinh 26.43
The calculation of points and our real champs of the day, based on the international formula for gender and age against world record, reported in ‘points’ sequence. It can be that the early finishers may not be the highest point-scorers and vice-versa.
